Gifting a pet portrait is such a great idea! What a personal gift! If you have a specific date you need your portrait by please contact Crystal prior to purchasing and she will let you know if this is possible. You may also want to consider gifting a gift certificate, which allows your friend to enjoy the whole experience of having a commission drawn for them from start to finish.

Do you offer a framing service with your Pet Portraits?

No, unfortunately not. My specialty is painting and I leave framing to the framing experts. Dedicated framing galleries can help you choose a frame that fits both the artwork and your home, and will have many samples on-hand you can choose from. In addition, doing the framing after delivery will save significantly on shipping costs due to the reduced weight.

After I have purchased a custom pet portrait, can I order multiple prints, pillow, phone case, or set of cards?

Absolutely! I will send you a digital file where you can create all sort of custom products. It will be a nice way to share your pet portrait with other family members.

What does Crystal paint from? Does my pet have to come in for a sitting?

Getting any pet to sit still whilst having their portrait painted for hours would be challenging, to say the least! This is why Crystal paints from photographs that you send through of your pet.

What type of photos should I send to Crystal?

Because I work directly from your photographs – as you may know, animals do not always sit still very well! The more you send me, the better. Natural light and clear, detailed images are ideal, and high-resolution imagery is best, but not necessary. I have been able to make portraits work from cell phone photos and Facebook photos without a problem. Photographing your pet on a hard surface (eg: hardwood floors or concrete) is not only ideal, but it will allow us to see those paws, too! Keep in mind, the better the photo the better the portrait! If you can’t decide on the image to use and have a few goodies, send them all through and I can offer my advice.
